Times keep on changing at Jerez. Yesterday ...

Times keep on changing at Jerez. Yesterday Jos was the quicker of the two Tyrrell men. The Dutchman set a time of 1m24.16s against a 1m24.43 of Salo. The team again did not have many problems to cope with, apart from a differential problem on Verstappen's car. Happily the team was able to fix the problem quickly so that Jos could go out onto the track again. Jos reported that he spun a couple of times because of the diff problem. With the new example things went better. Thus he was very happy with the progress the team made. Especially the torque of the Ford engine was enjoyable through the differing corners of Jerez according to Jos.

Mika Salo was just like Jos happy with the new car. "The weather was not really good on Friday. There was a strong wind which blew a lot of dust accross the track but thankfully is was dry. Despite this we learned a lot about the car. It is very responsive and the engine feels strong" according to the Finn.

Today Jos and Mika will both try to do a race distance with fresh Ford engines. The team will stay at Jerez until Monday evening, after that Tyrrell will go back to England to work out the testdata. Testing will resume at Estoril at 18 February.

The new teams, Lola and Stewart, are not only busy testing their new cars but also their new websites. Lola can be found on their own site and on the one of it's sponsor Mastercard while Stewart is also working on it's own site.
