On August 1 Adrian Newey will become the new technical director at McLaren. Adrian Newey, who has designed the Williams Grand Prix cars since 1992 and has joined Williams in 1990, was suspended by Williams since November last year and was still under contract until 1999. Williams had started preliminary court action when Newey wanted to end his contract early. It is now believed that the two teams have settled the matter. Adrian Newey will take the place of current McLaren designer Neil Oatley.
