Preview: unique memorabilia in the Max Verstappen store
Published on 16 June 2017 by Stefan Meens
On Saturday 17 June, the one and only Max Verstappen store will open in Swalmen, the Netherlands. Because of his busy schedule, Max unfortunately cannot attend the opening. However, the Dutchman had a sneak peek earlier in the week and impressed with what he saw: “It’s really nice.”
The store is the physical location of Verstappenshop.nl and offers the full online collection in-store. Besides all the Max Verstappen merchandise, unique Max Verstappen racing memorabilia will be on display in the shop, such as helmets from both his Formula 1 and Formula 3 career. Highlights are the helmet he wore at his first ever Grand Prix in Melbourne 2015, the one he used during his first win (Spain 2016) and his current 2017 Red Bull Racing helmet.
Another unique piece of Verstappen history is Max’s very first go-kart, which he used when he was only 4,5 years old. Initially, his dad Jos wanted Max to wait until he was six, but the youngster was desperate to go race. Other memorabilia include, trophies, helmets and race suits. If you’re visiting, there is plenty of (free) parking available as well as the opportunity to try on the clothes. The shop will soon be a collection point for orders placed on Verstappenshop.nl also. Note: payment by card only.
