Jacques Villeneuve was the fastest man today at the Friday free practice sessions for the Argentine GP with a time of 1:25.755, Barrichello was surprisingly second and Panis is as surprisingly third. During the first free practice this morning Michael Schumacher was fastest followed by teammate Eddy Irvine and brother Ralf Schumacher.

Jos did an excellent job today. The aerodynamic adjustments to the car seem to work out well. He ended the first free practice as ninth (1:30.138) and in the second session still fifteenth (1:29.302). Salo was seventeenth in the first (1:31.613) as well as the second session (1:29.893).
