Max on Singapore: "Improved car and fuel"
Published on 14 September 2017 by Stefan Meens
Ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix this weekend, Max Verstappen previews the race on the challenging street circuit.
“Overtaking is always a bit more challenging on street circuits like Singapore. That’s because of the shorter straights and the amount of turns”, explains the youngster, who also identified the heat as another challenging factor. “Because it’s warm, we’ll usually do more pitstops, two or three. We also have to keep in mind the high risk of a safety car so we have to keep several strategies open. Anything could happen.”
Back in Milton Keynes, Red Bull Racing have continued developing the RB13. “For this weekend, we’ve got a couple of updates for the car and the engine. We’re also using improved fuel so I’m happy about that. It could give us some more power so we can follow the other cars better if we’re not at the front. Hopefully we’re at the front so we don’t have to overtake.”
