Max previews Sepang: "Hopefully even better than last year!"

Max Verstappen sat in between Ferrari drivers Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel at the Thursday FIA press conference ahead of the Malaysian Grand Prix. The main discussion point was obviously the clash between the three drivers at the previous race in Singapore.
“It’s happened and we can’t change it. It was an unfortunate moment but what can I do about it?”, reflects Max. “We’re now here so we’re going to look ahead.”
Nevertheless, it was disappointing for the Dutchman to end his Singapore race prematurely. “It would have been a good opportunity for a win, but you never know what’s going to happen. Just look at Singapore, as soon as the lights went out, three cars were out. So we’ll have to stay positive.”
Looking forward to Malaysia, Max is realistic. “It’s difficult to judge how competitive we are but we’ve got speed. Last year went well, we finished second. I wanted to win but nevertheless it was a great day for the team. It really is my best memory of the Malaysian Grand Prix. Hopefully we can do even better this year.”
Sunday’s race will be the last Grand Prix at the Sepang International Circuit. “I’ll miss the track, it’s a good circuit. But I won’t miss the heat.”
Coinciding with the Malaysian Grand Prix, it is Max’ birthday on Saturday. The youngster turns 20. Asked who will eat the cake in this heat, Sebastian Vettel is keen for a bite, to which Max responded he would happily drop some cake into the Ferrari cockpit.
