Japan contest has a winner!
Published on 11 October 2017 by Mike Motilall
Together with the Max Verstappen web shop, Verstappen.nl set up a contest for round sixteen, the prize was a 1:43 Japan scale model from 2016. There were 349 participants.
The fastest lap time of Max during the race in Japan had to be predicted. On lap 51 the Dutch Red Bull Racing-driver noted a 1:33.730, being his fastest lap time of the race. With a 1:33.728 Mathilde Durieux was off by only two thousandths of a second! By no means is she the true winner of the 1:43 Japan 2016 scale model. She partook in our new and improved contest section. The new contest, USA, has already been opened.
“I am so happy, thank you so much!”, says Mathilde from the French part of Belgium. “Max’ performance is getting better and better. He hasn’t given up after all these DNF’s and always tries to do his best in every race. I think winning Malaysia last week has given him more self-confidence and strength for the next few races."
The prize winner continues: “I applaud his tenacity and wish him the best of luck for the next four races and the rest of his life. Max is a really great driver and deserves a place among the best Formula 1-drivers."
