Tyrrell continued it's 2-day test session at Silverstone today. Today it was Jos' turn to drive, together with Mika Salo. In the end Jos completed about 45 trouble-free laps with the new Ford ED5 engine. In the end Mika Salo was 2/10th of a second faster than Jos but was using new dampers which will be used in both Tyrrell's from the Canadian Grand Prix on. Besides Tyrrell the teams of McLaren, Williams, Benetton, Ferrari, Jordan, Sauber and Stewart were also testing at Silverstone today.

Barbara Behlau officially announced the extension of her partnership with Tyrrell until the end of this season today. Agence Barbara MC would like her association with Tyrrell to honour the late Roland Ratzenberger who died in a crash at Imola. Roland and Barbara are both of Austrian origin and were close friends.
