The warm up of this morning was very quiet. According to our local reporter (Harold Bouwmeester who made the Tyrrell pages on our site) the weather conditions are very clouded but dry. However he is very doubtful if it stays dry. During the warm up, Villeneuve was fastest in 1:19.961 followed by Ralf Schumacher, Hakkinen, Frentzen, Alesi and Fisichella.

The Tyrrell team was very pleased with the performance of both drivers yesterday and also with the new ED5 engine. They will use the new engine for both drivers during the race. To save the engines for the race, both Salo and Verstappen only drove a few laps during the warm up. Salo drove two short sessions (1:23.549, P18) while Jos only drove one short session (1:23.686, P21).
