Pirelli, F1’s sole tyre supplier, has announced the tyre choices the respective teams have made for the Chinese Grand Prix. The drivers have the medium, soft and ultra-soft Pirelli tyres at their disposal.
Max Verstappen and team mate Daniel Ricciardo both opt to run on two sets of the mediums, four sets of the softs and seven ultra-softs. Regarding the tyre choice in Bahrain, where all the teams have gone for almost the same tyres, we now see a lot more differences between them. Ferrari has gone for a more aggressive approach, taking eight sets of the softest compound available with them to Bahrain. The Italian squad has also three sets of the softs and two sets of the medium tyre at their disposal.
Mercedes is together with Force India the two most reserved teams. They will be running on six sets of the ultra’s. This leaves the Mercedes drivers six (Lewis Hamilton) and five (Valtteri Bottas) sets of the yellow striped tyre at their disposal.
