29-year old Italian Gianni Morbidelli will indeed replace his fellow countryman Nicola Larini in the Sauber Formula 1 team starting with the Spanish Grand Prix this weekend in Barcelona (see our item of May 14). The deal was announced today by Ferrari, which is supplying engines for Sauber this year. Morbidelli, who is the official test driver for Ferrari, drove a Formula 1 race for the last time in 1995 for Arrows. He then finished third in the Australian Grand Prix in Adelaide. Larini will resume his old job as test driver for Ferrari.
