Max: 'I want to win every race, that's always been my approach'

Ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix, Max Verstappen was part of the FIA press conference. There, sitting next to McLaren’s Stoffel Vandoorne, he reviewed his Monaco Grand Prix. “I enjoyed the race and had a good fight with Stoffel. He didn’t give me a lot of space, which was good. I started in last place and managed to score points, so I definitely had fun on Sunday.”

Max approaches the upcoming races like he always has: “I won’t change my approach. It got me to where I am now. Everybody is entitled to their opinion, but I’ll do my own thing. Of course, things haven’t worked out this year so far. It hasn’t gone the way I want it, with a couple of mistakes in China and Monaco, but I don’t want go on about that. I focus on what’s ahead. I’m confident I can turn it around. The speed is there. Every weekend I’ve been fast. It would’ve been an issue if didn’t have pace. I want to win every race, that’s always been my approach."

In Montreal, Aston Martin Red Bull Racing will be able to use a new power unit. “I’m expecting more horse power. We’ll see what it brings us on the track. It’s good to have an update, hopefully it will bring us closer to the other top teams.”
