Pirelli announces tyre choices British Grand Prix

Pirelli, Formula 1’s sole tyre supplier, has announced the tyre choices the F1-teams have made for the British Grand Prix. At the tenth Grand Prix of this season, the drivers have, for the first time this season, the hard compound tyre at their disposal. Beside that compound, Pirelli will also be bringing along the soft and medium tyre to the Silverstone circuit.
Striking is that Max Verstappen, out of all the drivers, has the least set of softs at his disposal, just seven sets. Furthermore, the Dutchman will be running on four sets of the mediums and two of the hardest compound. Red Bull Racing-team mate Daniel Ricciardo opts, just like Valtteri Bottas, to run on eights sets of the softs, three of the mediums and two sets of the harder compound. The two front runners in the championship standings, Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel have gone for eight times the softs, four times the mediums and two sets of the hardest compound.
The Renault and Toro Rosso drivers have gone for the more aggressive approach with ten sets of the softs. Standing out with his choice of tyres is Nico Hulkenberg, he is the only one in the field with just one set of medium tyres at his disposal.
