In the warm up session of this morning Jos made up a bit for yesterday's qualifying session. In the end Jos rounded up on a 12th spot (1:23.334), Mika Salo was 14th (1:23.380). Mika Hakkinen was the man to beat this morning with his time of 1:21.480. Villeneuve, Panis, Frentzen, Michael Schumacher and Coulthard followed him.

The warm-up was once again being held under a sunny sky, 17,5 °C, from 10.00 to 10.30 hrs. this morning. Shortly after the start, the session was stopped with a red flag because Herbert's (T-)car came to a stop in the outlap. The car had to be towed away first. Before the red flag Ralf Schumacher missed the chicane and hit the kerbs hard. After the restart Ralf showed that he could repeat this trick with his T-car and now both cars had to be repaired.

At first the times of Jos didn't came through. Fortunately this wasn't a problem with his car but with the transponder, a device that transmits the lap times. After a couple of laps Jos came in again to adjust the front wheel suspension. 8 minutes before the end of the session Jos came out again to make a couple of fine laps. In each lap he improves his time with 0,1 to 0,2 seconds. Eventually Mika Hakkinen was the fastest man. A complete overview of the times can be found on our season page.
