George Russell quickest after two days of testing in Hungary

Mercedes-junior George Russell was the quickest during the two-day Formula 1 test at the Hungaroring. After he suffered from gearbox problems a day earlier, Wednesday turned out better for the Englishman. He was able to improve the unofficial track record, which was held since Tuesday by Antonio Giovinazzi by a tenth of a second. Kimi Raikkonen came in second by a few hundredths, followed by Jake Dennis who finished third in his Red Bull.
Raikkonen, who was quickest in the morning, went head to head with Russell at the beginning of the afternoon. Raikkonen first set a 1:16, after which Russell was able to beat the Finn by 0.074 sec..
The Scuderia Toro Rosso team on Wednesday had three drivers active. The three closed the day in the final three spots on the time table. Brendon Hartley and Pierre Gasly carried out test work for Pirelli, while Sean Gelael was able to focus on the program for the team from Faenza.
Nikita Mazepin ended his test for Force India on P5, ahead of Robert Kubica in the Williams. Lando Norris put his McLaren on P7 followed by Artem Markelov in his Renault
