Pirelli, Formula 1’s sole tyre supplier, has announced the tyre choices the different teams have made for the Italian Grand Prix. At the fourteenth race weekend of the season, which will be held on the speedy Autodromo Nazionale di Monza, the drivers will have the medium, soft and super-soft compound tyres at their disposal.
Ferrari, Force India and Sauber appear to go on the attack as they have all opted to run on no less than ten sets of the super-softs. Sebastian Vettel and Marcus Ericsson have selected an extra set of the mediums, the rest of the three teams mentioned have gone for an additional set of the yellow striped tyre.
Also remarkable is Max Verstappen’s choice of the amount of softs. The Dutchman is the only one that has opted to run on five sets. Valtteri Bottas, Brendon Hartley and the McLaren-drivers follow with just four sets.
Apart from that, there is even a difference between the drivers themselves in almost every team. Only at Force India, Renault and McLaren is the tyre selection similar between the racing drivers.
