At the first free Saturday practice session of the Monaco Grand Prix that was being held this morning from 9.00 to 9.45 hrs., under a sunny sky and a temperature of 15,8 °C, Jos set an 7th (!) time (1.21.124) and Salo a 4th (!) time (1.20.847). The time difference between Salo and Jos is 0,3 seconds. The time difference between Jos and the fastest man, Hakkinen (1.19.962) was 1,2 seconds. The first six were: Hakkinen, Frentzen, Alesi, Salo, Villeneuve and Herbert. After 15 minutes Coulthard goes off at the Rascasse corner. Close to the end of the session Panis makes quite a big crash at the start of the pit straight. A complete overview of the times can be found on our season page.
