Due to technical maintenance, our site will not be reachable starting this evening. We expect that this maintenance will continue up until Sunday

Durig the first free practice the engine of Jos was blown up. After Jos started with the first session, he heard a strange sound coming from his motor during his first fast lap. He did not finish that lap and came in again. The team could not find any mechanical problems, so Jos went out again, blowing his motor. The team of Tyrrell did a fine job, changing the motor in less then one hour time making it possible for Jos take part in the second free session.

Despte the fact that Jos had difficulties with blocking rear weels he drove the fastest lap time in the second half of the session. Not for long, since Fisichella drove faster. But for longer time, Jos remained second. At the end of the session a few drivers improved their times faster then Jos, but at the end he was seventh overall. The big difference between Jos and Mika Salo was due to the fact that Salo did not drive anymore at the end of the second free session.
