Published on 30 November 2018 by Mike Motilall

After months of speculating, Lance Stroll has finally been confirmed at Racing Point Force India as their new driver for the coming season. The Canadian will team up with the Mexican Sergio Perez. After Alexander Albon had previously been confirmed in Abu Dhabi at Scuderia Toro Rosso, the drivers’ line up for 2019 is now complete with the appointment of Lance Stroll.

Last Summer, Lawrence Stroll, Lance’s father, took over Force India as head of a consortium and ever since it has been the talk of the town that the Williams-driver might swap teams. Those talks were once again the focus of attention when Robert Kubica was confirmed as the second driver at Williams.

Lance Stroll regarding the change: “This is the beginning of an incredibly exciting journey in my Formula 1-career. I am looking forward to working with this successful team that has a great culture. It is a new challenge and I am happy to take it on.”
