From the evaluation of Tyrrell it was seen that they were very pleased with the results from yesterday. Salo however was disapointed with his starting position. The new front wheel suspension worked out very well, and it will be used during the race today. Another example that the team is doing it's out most best to create the best performance. According to our local pit reporters (Coen and Sandra) the weather is fine and it looks to be a sunny day without any rain. They drove with Jos to the circuit this morning and he felt confident for the race. The biggest problem looks to be the tyres which showed uge blisters only after a few laps yesterday.
During the warm up, most teams took their time. Villeneuve by example was 22nd and last up until 1 min to go, but drove to P7 on his last lap. Panis was fastest in 1:19.477, very fast however his breaks caught fire when he entered the pits. The top 6 showed further as followed: Coulthard, Fisichella, Alesi, Hakkinen and Ralf Schumacher. The spare car was set up for Jos since he was the quickest yesterday. Jos first drove one lap in his own car and then switched to the T-car. Both Salo and Verstappen were not allowed to drive at maximum speed since they had to be careful with the tyres. Jos drove for a long time in front (position 8,5 and 3) but at the end he fell back to position 15. Salo drove most of the time slower lap times then Jos, but managed a fast lap at the end of the session which brought him to position 11.
