The team of Aston Martin Red Bull Racing has strengthened their own pitstop record, set during the previous race at Silverstone. The mechanics of the team from Milton Keynes supplied Max Verstappen during the chaotic German Grand Prix with four new tyres in a record time of 1.88 seconds. This was a fraction quicker than the time of 1.91 seconds of the stop of teammate Pierre Gasly in England.
Of the four quickest stops during the race at the Hockenheim circuit, no less than three were of Red Bull Racing, all for Max’ car. In addition, it is already the fifth time this season that the mechanics of Red Bull Racing did the quickest pitstop, passing Williams with four fastest pitstops.
The mechanics had to come into action a lot of times during the race with changing circumstances. Verstappen won the race with no less than five pitstops, while Kevin Magnussen and Lewis Hamilton did even more stops, visiting the pits six times.
