Today and tomorrow Tyrrell will be testing again at Silverstone, Great Britain. Every driver of the Tyrrell team will take part in this planned testsession. Today it was Toranosuke Takagi's turn to drive the whole day in the normal Tyrrell 025 '97 race-car. In total he completed nearly a race-distance, some 300 Km. Out of precaution Jos was there in case Takagi wouldn't be able to drive the whole day.
Tomorrow Jos and Mika will have their turns. Jos will be driving the experimental Tyrrell 025X for the first time tomorrow. This car has been adjusted on some major points to fit the rule-changes for 1998. The car is smaller than this year (1800 mm instead of 2000 mm) and will have grooved Goodyear-tyres fitted. Mika already tested the new car twice but now it is Jos' turn and he is looking forward to it.
Jos told us furthermore that he still occasionally suffers from his neck as a consequence of the crash he made at Magny-Cours. The symptoms from which he now suffers are different than the ones he had after his crash at Francorchamps last year and are more similar to those of a whiplash. From time to time Jos is still a bit dizzy and he suffers from headaches. Luckily for him these symptoms do not occur while driving but on the Friday after the test session he will be seeing his doctor again for a check-up.
