There will not be a French Grand Prix this year. The organisers of the French Grand Prix have confirmed the race, which was set to take place on the 28th of June, will not go ahead.
The news does not come as a surprise, as the French president Emmanuel Macron announced earlier this month that all large public events will not be permitted till mid-July.
After the first nine Grand Prix of the year were cancelled or postponed, the French Grand Prix would be the first race of the season. Now this race is also cancelled, the Austrian Grand Prix, set to take place on the 5th July, will be the first race of the season. Formula 1 chief Ross Brawn said they are constantly working on a new calendar for this year, for which two-day Grand Prix weekends or even two Grand Prix on the same circuit are possible.
