In the second free practice session this Saturday morning at Silverstone Mika Hakkinen was fastest with 1:22.000, followed by Villeneuve (1:22.063) and Michael Schumacher (1:22.586). The top 6 was completed by Coulthard, Fisichella and Frentzen.

Both Tyrrell's were obviously not fast enough this morning. Jos ended as number 21 (1:25.195) and Salo was 20th (1:25.015). It should be remarked that Jos has completed almost the entire session on 1 set of tyres and only switched to a new set in the last couple of minutes of the session.
