The Tyrrell team completed it's two day test session at Silverstone today. Though the tests have been interrupted by rain Mika Salo managed a total of 122 laps on Thursday and Friday, recording a fastest lap time of 1:25.3. Jos only drove on Friday and managed a total of 43 laps with a best lap time of 1:25.4. As explained yesterday the original plan for Jos was to drive on both days but a stiff neck and back, caused by the 10G impact from the crash he made at Magny-Cours last Sunday, prevented him from driving on Thursday.

Of the 122 laps of Mika Salo, 31 laps were completed in a Tyrrell 025B, modified in accordance with 1998 regulations. The team was able to locate the software problem that caused Jos' as well as Mika's retirement in France last weekend and made modifications to prevent this from happening again. Furthermore the team was able to work on the set-up needed for the British Grand Prix on July 13.

Jos told us that he will need some extra days of physiotherapy for his neck and back and then everything should be OK again. Furthermore Jos told us that everything was going very well with his pregnant wife Sophie and that the fact that she is expecting a son becomes more and more visible.
