Grosjean and Magnussen to leave Haas at the end of the season

Published on 22 October 2020 by Mike Motilall

The so called ‘silly season’ started a new chapter this morning with the announcement that Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen will be leaving Haas. At the end of 2020, both drivers will say goodbye to the team that was founded by Gene Haas.

During a period of five years, Grosjean drove for the American outfit and gave them a fourth best finish in Austria (2018), their best ever performance. Team mate Magnussen joined in 2017 after a one year stint at Renault. The Dane managed to cross the line fifth fastest no less than four times at Haas.

It remains anyone’s guess who will replace both drivers. There are three names that are rumoured to be up for the task: Sergio Perez, Nico Hulkenberg and Formula 2-driver Nikita Mazepin. It is not ruled out that someone from the Ferrari-driver’s program will also get a shot.
