In the second free practice session of this morning Jos managed to improve upon his time from the first free session,although only by a few a few hundreds of a second. He was clocked at 1m18.059s. Unfortunately for Verstappen the rest also went quicker. Despite his improvement he slipped down to 19th position. More or less the same happened to Mika Salo. The Finn is now in 21st place. The Williams and McLaren drivers were the only ones to go below the 1m16s barier. Frentzen was leading the group with a time of 1m15.431s.

Jos set the 13th fastest time in this morning's first free practice session. He was a tenth of a second faster than teammate Mika Salo who lines up in 15th place. Benetton driver Jean Alesi was the quickest man in this session. It looks like the track is a bit quicker than yesterday when there was a lot of dust on the circuit according to Jos. Because of this Jos could improve upon his time from yesterday by about three seconds.
