Red Bull Racing requests FIA to reassess Hamilton's penalty

Red Bull Racing have launched a ‘petition for review’ in order to have the FIA review the incident that took place between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton at the British Grand Prix.
Red Bull Racing still do not agree with the severity of the penalty given and have officially requested the FIA for a review. During a video conference that will be held this Thursday July 29th, representatives of both teams will be able to share their views and additional evidence, which Red Bull Racing have presented, will be judged.
During the incident, on the first lap of the British Grand Prix, Max Verstappen was taken out of the race by Lewis Hamilton. The Dutchman was able, albeit with tremendous effort, to get out of the wreck which used to be his Red Bull and was taken to the Coventry hospital for precautionary reasons after some medical checks on the circuit. There he underwent further tests and was released from the hospital later that evening.
In the meantime, Hamilton was able to continue on after his Mercedes had been repaired during the red flag-situation. While in the race, Hamilton was blamed for the incident. The ten-second time-penalty the Briton had been handed out by the stewards could not prevent him from still winning the race.
Prior to the meeting, Red Bull Racing and Mercedes are to select a maximum of three representatives, at the latest by this Wednesday, for the video conference with the stewards. This Thursday the representatives will be heard and the additional evidence Red Bull Racing have presented will be reviewed. After that the stewards will pass judgement whether the new evidence is cause enough to overturn the initial penalty. If that is not the case, the penalty handed out during the race will be upheld.
