It's official: The Dutch Grand Prix is happening
Published on 13 August 2021 by Mike Motilall
The organization of the Dutch Grand Prix announced on Friday that the Dutch Formula 1 Grand Prix will take place in 2021. Due to the Covid-pandemic only two thirds of the maximum of 105,000 spectators are allowed that weekend.
Sporting events are permitted to use two thirds of the capacity of the grand stands. With this it is clear that the F1-event in the Netherlands is allowed to take place with about sixty- to seventy thousand spectators every day.
In a press release, the organization reported the following: “Given that the government will announce on August 13th that the 2021 F1 Heineken Dutch Grand Prix will be allowed to take place but with only 67% of its capacity, the organization has decided to let the event take place, albeit with a limited number of staff and in a slimmed down version.”
The organization also reports: “Wednesday August 18th at the latest, ticket holders will be informed by email whether they will be present this year or need to wait till next year for their turn. Fans who will not be present this year have the possibility to use their ticket for the 2022 Dutch Grand Prix or request a refund.”
Fans who bought their ticket at Verstappen Travel for one of the Max Verstappen Grand Stand in Zandvoort will soon receive notice from Verstappen Travel regarding the Dutch Grand Prix.
