On 23rd of May 2021 Max Verstappen triumphantly won the Monaco Grand Prix. A victory that took him to the lead in the Formula 1 championship for the first time in his career. Something he was extremely happy with judging from his exuberant response when the Red Bull Racing driver celebrated his victory with clenched fists on top of his car.
Via www.verstappenshop.nl you can now pre-order scale models of this winning RB16B in the Grand Prix of Monaco 2021, both in scale 1:43 and the bigger 1:18.
Max Verstappen dominantly won the race on the Monegasque street circuit. From his start in pole position Max held on to the lead which never really was at risk for the Red Bull Racing driver. The Dutchman took his first victory in Monaco 9 seconds ahead on Carlos Sainz, who finished second. Lando Norris completed the podium.
After the race, the overjoyed Max said: “It is so special to win around here. And also the first time on the podium here. It was an amazing race. It is quite hard to concentrate 100% during 78 laps, but it’s very cool. This is the Grand Prix you want to win, from when I was little. To also take the lead in the championship is a nice bonus.”
After the start Verstappen did not worry anymore: “You never know what is going to happen, but I have never felt pressured. It is all about looking after your tyres and finding the right gap to pit. The others went earlier, so that made it a bit easier. It was all pretty much under control.”
