Once again Max wins the Bathurst 12 Hour with Team Redline: 'Went super'

Just like last year, Max Verstappen won the virtual Bathurst 12 Hour dominantly. The Dutchman competed together with Team Redline teammate Luke Bennet in the iRacing simrace on the Australian Mount Panorama Circuit in Bathurst. After racing online for twelve hours, the duo had a lead of almost one minute on the number two, also a car from Team Redline (Max Benecke and Patrik Holzmann).
A faultless performance and lap times which were a fraction quicker than the competition, were the ingredients for the victory of Team Redline Orange, who managed in their orange McLaren MP4-12C GT3 to stay ahead of the red BMW M4 GT3.
“It was great to race, the car went super, just like last year even though we had a different car then”, says Max. “Our young protégé Luke drove a solid race, which is enjoyable to see. It is great that we could win this race together for Team Redline.”
Starting from fifth position in the 50 cars counting starting field, it does not take long for Max to be in third position. After ten minutes team Redline Yellow (Alexander Thiebe) is overtaken and a couple of minutes later VRS Coanda Simsport (Joshua Rogers) is also overtaken, after which Max is in the lead.
Rogers follows and tries to counter, but while trying to overtake there is some slight contact and he goes wide. From that moment #70 Team Redline Orange and #71 Team Redline Red are in the lead.
Max and teammate Bennet swap their seats virtually every two hours. After the first swap, the Brit has a precarious scare when one of the backmarkers spins right in front of him and he can only just escape a crash. In the remaining stints the lead is steadily increased, and so win Max and Bennet with a lead of 57 seconds after 346 laps in the twelve hours racing at Bathurst.
