If we combine the times of the two sessions Jos is 21st en Salo 20th. Tyrrell declared that the team had made good progress with the handling balance of the cars, tyre selection and downforce settings. Both drivers ran back-to-back tests of the innovative X-wings during the morning period but after analysis of the data both decided to remove them in order to maximise speed on the straights.

Jos had the following comments on today's sessions.
"We managed to sort out the oversteer between the two sessions, which made the car more driveable this afternoon, but we have some work to do to try to close the gap on the teams ahead of us because we are still too slow."
