According to French newspaper Le Figaro Jean Alesi would have signed a 'protocol of understanding' with Sauber Petronas for next season. The same newspaper reported that the contract could be signed this monday. The 33-year old Frenchman from Avignon then would become the teammate of Johnny Herbert.
