Max ahead of Belgian GP: 'Got the itch to get back to it'

After a summer break of almost a month, Formula One will descend on Stavelot this weekend for the Belgian Grand Prix. The race on the 7.004 km Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps is the first part of the so-called triple header, together with the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort and the Italian Grand Prix in Monza.
Max Verstappen leads the championship with nine races remaining by no less than eighty points over Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc, but is not resting on his laurels any time soon: "I’m feeling ready to race again after a good break. I definitely got the itch to get back to it. It will be a busy triple header but it will be okay to manage as we’ve all had a rest.”
The circuit in the Ardennes has undergone several changes over the past year, including the addition of extra gravel traps. “The upgrades to the track have made it a little more old school with the gravel traps which I think is a good idea”, says Verstappen. “It’s my favourite track so I’m looking forward to racing there this weekend. It looks like there might be rain around which will make it more tricky, but luckily as a team we like a challenge."
