During the second session of the free practice today, many drivers were not able to improve their times of the first session. Frentzen again proved that he is very capable to drive the Williams on a fast circuit. He set the fastest lap time in 1:23.991, almost 1 second fatser then his team mate Villeneuve who was second. The rest of the top 6 was as followed: Alesi, Coulthard, Fisichella and Hakkinen. The session was stopped after half an hour because Katayama spinned of the track.

Both Jos and Mika Salo did not improve their times form the first session. Salo ended in position 17 and Jos in position 20. The difference between both drivers was 0.15 seconds.

After the free practice of today Jos told us that he used only one set of tyres during the complete session. During the free practice, he and his team worked hard on the set up of the car. He was very pleased with the car at the end of the day and he could have set a much faster time if he had used new tyres. However he stated that Monza is a high speed-circuit where we should not expect too much of the Tyrrel. Nevertheless he remains confident with the team and car.
