Michael Schumacher is summoned to appear at an extraordinary meeting of the World Motor Sport Council in Paris on November 11 by the FIA. The meeting will be held to discuss the collision between Michael Schumacher and Jacques Villeneuve at yesterday's European Grand Prix. In advance the FIA had announced that severe penalties, including multiple race bans next year, would be given in case one of the title contestants would play 'dirty'.

Newspapers all over the world have accused Michael Schumacher of foul play and shameful behaviour in last weekend's race at Jerez. This includes the Italian newspaper La Stampa, which is owned by the Agnelli family. The Agnelli family owns Fiat and Ferrari among others. Even in his home country Germany newspapers were unanimously in their verdict. "The way that the Rhinelander sought a collision with his opponent's vehicle throws a bad light on him. Gone is his image as the nice boy next-door" said the Frankfurter Allgemeine, which accused Michael of "Wild West manners" as well.
