On a dry track Jos was the first to enter the track today in the first free Saturday morning practice in preparation for the European Grand Prix. The first 10 minutes were dominated by the teams with Bridgestone tyres. After 15 minutes Mika Hakkinen broke the 1:22 barrier for the first time and didn't give up his 'pole' position anymore. Towards the end of the session he veen improved again on his time and set 1:21.463. The top 6 of this morning was: Hakkinen, Frentzen, Alesi, Michael Schumacher, Villeneuve and Nakano (!). Jos did a very good job this morning and with a time of 1:23.877 he eventually occupied the 14th spot. Teammate Salo set a time of 1:26.309, good for a 21st place.
