Norberto Fontana is likely to drive the final Grand Prix of the year for the Sauber-Petronas team. Regular driver Gianni Morbidelli is said still to have a problem with his arm and his hand. These injuries played up again after a crash in qualifying at Suzuka. This was already a weak spot for the Italian as he broke his arm in a testsession earlier this year.

Alain Prost gets what he wanted after all. Jarno Trulli will replace Shinji Nakano at Jerez next weekend. For some time Alain Prost has made no secret of his preference for Trulli and his dissatisfaction with Nakano. Trulli recently tested at Jerez. Because the rules do not allow Formula 1 testing at Jerez during the season the Italian drove his 1996 Formula 3 car. Prost also wants to make Trulli familiar with the Suzuka circuit. Jarno never drove there and Prost wants to give him some extra experience. The second seat at Prost seems to be no longer available anymore.
