Thierry ahead of DTM Nurburgring: 'We should be competitive'

Published on 04 August 2023 by Niels Hendrix

Verstappen.com Racing is represented in the DTM by Thierry Vermeulen, who drives a Ferrari 296 GT3 of Emil Frey Racing. The 21-year-old Dutchman will make his appearance the upcoming weekend during the fourth round of the DTM championship, at the Nürburgring in Germany.

Thierry is looking forward to the event: “I am excited to get back into the car after a few days off. It will be the first time I’ll be driving here with a 296, so it will be interesting to see what we can do as a team.”

“There is no Thursday test, which means that the free practice will start on Friday. The weather is looking liked mixed conditions, which could be good for us. We haven’t had any wet races yet this year and I think we can be quite competitive also in the rain.”

Thierry concludes: “The other teams already had a race here last week, so we could see the competitiveness of the Ferrari and after a few small BOP changes, I think we should be able to be competitive. We left the GT World Challenge after Misano with a positive feeling and I’m excited to carry this through to the DTM.”
