Verstappen.com Racing is represented in the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup (GTWC Sprint) by Thierry Vermeulen, who drives a Ferrari 296 GT3 of Emil Frey Racing. The 21-year-old Dutchman made his appearance last weekend during the event at Circuit Zandvoort in the Netherlands.
Thierry Vermeulen and his teammate Albert Costa finished second in the first race in Zandvoort. With that result, they ended fourth in the drivers championship of the GT World Challenge Sprint Cup. Thierry reflects: “We just finished our last round of GT World Challenge in Zandvoort. I have mixed emotions about the weekend. We had a podium on Saturday which was very nice. But I think the win could have been ours and this is something I need to work on. To keep improving so we can come back stronger for hopefully next year.”
There is little time to rest for Thierry. He adds: “Now it’s off to the final race weekend of the year, the final round of DTM in Hockenheim. I am super excited to go back to this track. We were there earlier this year for the GT World Challenge.”
“It is going to be a cool weekend. We were very quick there with the GT World Challenge so it will be interesting to see how we perform with DTM. This is of course going to be quite different with tough competition. Also the championship will be decided there, so I think there will be a lot of drama throughout the weekend. For me it’s important to get the maximum points and this is what I will fight for and of course I still have that goal of achieving my first DTM podium.”
