The Tyrrell team is likely to present its '98 challenger, the 026, mid January. Untill then the team will carry out several tests with an interin 025. As most other teams Tyrrell will head for Spain next month with a 98-spec car. The team will use the V8 engine as the new V10 unit will not be seen before the new car is introduced. Tyrrell expects to name the teammate of Toranosuke Takagi before the December tests. Talking about Takagi: the Japanese driver rounded of a dissapointing year in Formula Nippon today. Takagi won one race and finished only 6th in the championship.

Ferrari wants to use tape recordings of radio-conversations by McLaren and Williams at Jerez in the Schumacher case next Tuesday. In this conversations there should be clear indications that Villeneuve was ordered to let the McLaren drivers pass. It is however unlikely that this evidence can justify Schumachers action against Villeneuve.
