Charges against Frank Williams have been dropped in the Senna trial. Italian state prosecutor, Maurizio Passarini, asked the charges to be dropped because not enough evidence could be gathered. He also asked to drop charges against three track officials, race track director Federico Bendinelli, circuit manager Giorgio Poggi and race director Roland Bruynseraede, to be dropped. Charges against the two remaining defendants, Williams' technical director Patrick Head and former team designer Adrian Newey, were not dropped but Passarini said their error had been "microscopic" and asked the judge to hand them one-year suspended sentences, one of the lightest sentences available for manslaughter. The final verdict is expected mid December.
