Michelin denied that there are planning to enter Formula 1 in the near future. Some rumours played up that the French firm was ready to enter Grand Prix racing after Goodyear's departure at the end of 1998. It looks like Bridgestone will have the monopoly to supply tyres in Formula 1 in 1999.
