Jos Verstappen was brimming with pride after the Brazilian Grand Prix, where his son Max dominated the race despite tough conditions, driving from P17 to victory.
Jos, who was present in Sao Paulo to witness Max's victory, said with a big smile in front of the Viaplay cameras: "I think Max was incredibly irritated. He showed who is the very best, especially after the comments from the English journalists, those English ex-drivers and the commentators. Max did amazing today. I have experienced a lot with him, but today he was one of the very best."
Max has extended his lead in the championship to 62 points, bringing the title within reach. "That is very positive," says Jos. "Let's hope. As we have seen, a lot can happen very quickly. But, with three races to go, we have a bit more peace of mind, so things are looking good.”
