Good news for all Formula 1 fans: The organisising committee of the Belgian Grand Prix today announced that the FIA has decided to stage this Grand Prix on August 30 of this year. The decision concludes months of struggle about wether to continue or not with the most beautiful Grand Prix of the season. Previously the FIA threatened to cancel the Grand Prix following a decision of the Belgian government to adopt a very strict anti tobacco advertising law prohibiting all tobacco advertsing in Belgium starting 1999. The Belgian legislation is even stricter than the new European legislation.
