Ricardo Rosset, the newly appointed driver for Tyrrell, has had his first taste of the new Tyrrell 026 today. The Brazilian did 43 laps today in the Tyrrell Ford V10 at the circuit of Barcelona, setting a best time of 1:25.146. Fastest driver today was David Coulthard who clocked 1:22.522 in his McLaren-Mercedes. Team manager Steve Nielsen summed up the week as a productive one. The team will continue testing on Monday.
Although the Belgian Grand Prix still faces the axe Max Mosley has said for Belgian newspaper Le Soir that "Hopefully, a solution will be found because losing the Belgian race would be a sporting disaster." The FIA has given the organisers of the Belgian Grand Prix until February 15 to guarantee them that the new strict Belgian anti-tobacco law doesn't affect the race.
