Also in the warm up there were no surprises about the men on top. Mika Häkkinen was again fastest followed by David Coulthard. Behind the McLarens were the Ferrari team with Irvine ahead of Schumacher. In fifth place there was a small surprise caused by Rubens Barrichello who scored his first top 5 position this weekend. Olivier Panis had a scary moment when he went off quite hard with his Prost. The session was redflagged for this but fortunately the Frenchman was unhurt.
