During the first day of the Benetton test session in Barcelona, Giancarlo Fisichella started the session in his own car. This afternoon however he had a severe crash, damaging his car beyond repair. The team only had one test car which couldn't be fixed in time again. The session that was planned to last until Friday was called off and Jos will be home again tomorrow morning without having tested for the team.

Jos will get other test opportunities with Benetton though. This Saturday Jos will do the shake down of the Benetton's for the Spanish Grand Prix. Jos will also be testing for Benetton on Monday Tuesday after the Spanish Grand Prix (May 11 and 12) on the circuit of Jerez. In the mean time the negotiations with several teams including Stewart continue.
