Today Jos has performed the shake down test for three cars for the Benetton Playlife team. The shake down took place at the Santa Pod dragstrip between Milton Keynes and Northampton in Great Britain. Jos has tested from 10 this morning until 2 in the afternoon. The shake down was done in preparation for the San Marino Grand Prix that is staged next weekend at the circuit of Imola. The test was trouble free and was a good oportunity for Jos to try the Benetton again.

While Goodyear introduced wider front tyres at the Argentinian Grand Prix Adrian Newey, technical director at McLaren, is rumoured to have asked Bridgestone to develop a narrower front tyre. Narrow front tyres are expected to give an advantage at fast circuits like Monza and Hockenheim.

The Grand Prix of San Marino next weekend will propably be the spot where every car will be fitted with new on board warning lights for the first time. These lights that pick up signals from transponders along the track at every 200 meter will warn drivers which flags are being waved along the track at that moment. The traditional flags will not disappear so drivers will never have the excuse of a technical failure of the system.
