Ferrari has quickly continued it's extensive test programme after their victory at the Argentine Grand Prix. On Tuesday Luca Badoer drove a couple of test laps at the circuit of Fiorano. On Wednesday Eddie Irvine took over the wheel from the Italian and continued the test session with tyre tests. The Irishman drove 68 laps in preparation for the San Marino Grand Prix at Imola, a circuit that is very heavy on the tyres. Eddie improved the old track record of Michael Schumacher at Fiorano which was 1:02.158 with 0.5 seconds to 1:01.616.

Today Michael Schumacher continues the test session at Fiorano while Eddie Irvine tests in parallel on the circuit of Mugello. Ferrari has considered using the X-wings that were invented by Tyrrell for the Argentine Grand Prix. The team tried fitting the ones used by Sauber but the wings didn't fit on the Ferrari.
